Catching up on the Podcast

I have been so late on the podcast updates. Forgive me. Blog posts that double as podcast updates are also kind of cheater posts, aren’t they? I do have more posts to write, but taking the time to sit down and hammer them out has evaded me.You deserve better, internet. Much better.

In the meantime, Dale and I have recorded a couple of podcast episodes that you may or may not like. We have tried (a little)  harder over the past episodes to bring episodes that you’ll like.

Episode 35: Sports and Family

In this episode, Dale and I spent some time talking about how all-consuming youth sports can be. We don’t have good answers, but we are pro-competition and physical activity. Dale and I don’t agree on everything here, but we at least try and navigate how families can better consider their engagement in all-consuming things.

For those wanting to know our references:

  • The potential of any high school athlete becoming a summer Olympian comes from here.
  • Challenges to physical activity can be found here and here.
  • Lack of impact of on childhood obesity can be found here.

Episode 36: Pastors and their Plebes (Part 1 of 2)

This is a two-parter. Dale and I had an idea about an episode (or two) where we share with one another things that frustrate us (though “frustrate” is honestly too strong of a word) about the other. That doesn’t mean as brothers. I, from the pastor’s perspective, share a few thoughts/questions. Dale, from the member’s perspective, shares his own thoughts. Week one was me. Dale’s turn will be next week.

This is a harder episode for me because I really don’t have a ton of issues. I love what I do, but I think this episode can pull back the curtain for some folks. I look forward to hearing Dale’s (he’s actually already shared them with me and they are awesome).

More (real) posts to come. Sorry for my delay. Thanks for listening/reading/being who you are.

I'd love to hear your thoughts . . .
